Gillie’s Paraphernalia – Furniture art and glass decoupage
Gillie’s Paraphernalia was born out of my lifelong love for ‘pretty things’. To get a flavour of my furniture art and glass decoupage, please go to the website Gallery.
The pieces of furniture were old brown wood, some of them rickety and all of them looking ready for the scrap-heap.
Likewise the pieces of glass have all been recycled from various sources – the double decoupage method is an unusual artform which creates from a plain, clear piece of glass an entirely unique and stunning piece of art.
For the furniture I like to use stencils, image transfers, decoupage with fabric or paper, colour touches, etc. Note the different finishes – smooth and contemporary, vintage and shabby chic, aged or clean-cut, you name it, we can produce that for you, again to create a unique or statement piece.
Bowls and vases decorated with glass decoupage are rare, the artform sometimes known as double decoupage dates back many centuries but has been lost in time. Each simple piece of clear glass becomes a unique story with the use of colour, shape and imagination. These pieces make wonderful, bespoke gifts.
