Each unique piece of Heirloom decoupage glass has been handcrafted over many hours and weeks. No fewer than 23 stages are involved in the creation of a single piece.
The papers are sourced from designers in the UK, the US, Italy, Japan, Turkey and many more. In one piece there may be papers from several parts of the world. Once the design work is completed, the piece is varnished and sanded up to 30 times to produce the beautiful finish.
Decoupage is an ancient art used down the ages. If you notice ‘flaws’ in the piece, this is a characteristic of decoupage art and these have been prized as proof of the individuality of the artwork.
Pieces can be used to hold dry items such as potpourri or dried flowers, edibles such as crips, nuts or sweets.
If you would like to commission another piece as a special wedding, anniversary, birthday or leaving gift, I shall be delighted to discuss your ideas with you.
